On Love Fables and Love Poetry

This article defines romantic fables in Iranian culture and illustrates and analyzes their significance and characteristics. In particular, the act of falling in love, the travel toward the beloved, and the lovers’ activism will be pointed out. The article also compares this genre to the oral tradition of love stories to show how they are different in the way each reaches a tragic ending.
